A 12-day strike by Air France pilots' unions is being called "catastrophic" by the airline industry. Despite offers by the airline to scrap plans — the action that sparked the strike — the unions and management have still not agreed on conditions to end the strike. Since the strike began on Sept. 17, more than half of Air France's scheduled flights have been canceled, stranding thousands of travelers around the world, according to the airline.
